Certification Process
CCA certification follows a structured review process designed to assess alignment with the Cleaning Compliance Standard.
The process focuses on how your business operates based on documented practices and operational structure, not marketing claims or individual outcomes.
Certification is available to active CCA members and reflects alignment at the time of review.
Step 1: Apply for CCA Membership
Submit a simple application with basic information about your business. This helps determine if your business is a good fit for CCA and aligns with the direction of the standard. CCA certification is available to active members of the Cleaning Compliance Association.
Membership provides access to certification materials, guidance on standards, and information about the review process.
Some businesses participate as members without pursuing certification. Membership and certification serve different purposes.
Step 2: Prepare Documentation
Certification is based on documented practices.
Businesses should ensure that key operational systems are clearly documented and reflect how the business is actually run day to day.
Documentation may include materials related to:
Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Safety practices and policies
Equipment use and maintenance
Training, onboarding, or internal controls
Client communication and service consistency
Documentation is evaluated for clarity, structure, and consistency—not volume or complexity.
Step 3: Submit an Application
Once documentation is prepared, eligible members may submit an application for certification.
Applications include submission of required materials for review. Submission of an application does not guarantee certification.
All materials are reviewed against the CCA Cleaning Compliance Standard.
Step 4: Review and Evaluation
Submitted materials are reviewed by CCA to assess alignment with defined standards.
The review focuses on whether systems are:
documented
clearly defined
consistently structured
If clarification or additional information is needed, applicants may be contacted during the review process.
Step 5: Certification Determination
Following review, applicants are notified of the certification outcome.
If certification is granted, it indicates that the business has met the CCA Cleaning Compliance Standard™ at the time of evaluation.
Certification reflects documented alignment—not guaranteed outcomes or performance.
If certification is not granted, applicants may receive general guidance on areas that did not meet standards and may reapply after making appropriate adjustments.
Maintaining Certification
CCA certification is not permanent.
To maintain certification, businesses are expected to demonstrate continued alignment with standards through annual review.
This helps ensure consistency over time and maintains the integrity of certification as a professional reference point.
Important Notes
Certification does not replace licensing, insurance, or legal compliance requirements
Certification does not guarantee service quality or eliminate variability
